This year, once again, the Ebisu Tonari no Sanma Matsuri - the festival where you can get a taste of freshly grilled sanma (Pacific saury) for free - is being held. This year’s sanma catch may have been low, but the festival is going ahead as usual. About 2000 sanma will be cooked up for the free tastings and there will be a variety of stalls set up by members of the Keisei-Shotengai neighbourhood store association.
