One of this summer's first major food festivals in Tokyo will probably also be one of the smelliest: bring a plentiful stock of mints to Kabukicho, where garlic gourmet of multitudinous varieties can be sampled over five days. The menu ranges from curry, chicken and pasta to popcorn and even garlic beer (!), all available for a flat ¥500 each, while the first 1,000 visitors will be presented with free breath-freshening 'prizes'.
