After a four-month delay, Japan’s latest anime and manga attraction Tokorozawa Sakura Town will finally open its doors on November 6. The grand opening event, which runs until November 15, will be a fun and entertaining outdoor Anime Camp, where you can shop for food and souvenirs, say hello to costumed characters, visit the dedicated Instagram photo spots, and more. Join in the event and you'll receive a special Anime Camp-themed face mask case and wrist band.
That’s not all: to celebrate, many of Sakura Town’s venues will also host special events throughout November. At the EJ Anime Museum, you can learn about the history of animation through production materials and illustrations, in an exhibition marking the 35th anniversary of anime magazine Newtype. On November 6 especially, you can witness the unveiling of the illuminated Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin manhole covers, which were created to commemorate Tokorozawa City’s 70th anniversary. Then, on November 27, you can enjoy a concert by violinist Ryu Goto.
