You've probably never been up on it, but Shinjuku's Isetan actually boasts one of the more beer garden-worthy rooftops in town. The venerable department store is now setting up seating for imbibers on it throughout the summer, serving an Italian-themed selection of edibles to go with all the sparkling wine, sangria and mojitos you can handle. Six varieties of two-to-three-hour drink deals with food are available, priced from ¥4,800 to ¥6,000, while online bookings can be made here. Just look out for foul weather, as this one closes in case of rain.
The beer garden is closed on July 8 & 9 and August 1, 22 & 29.
