Ballet Creole's Kambule says
From the Kikongo language of the Congo, meaning Street Procession, Kambule pays homage to our African Ancestors who marked the end of slavery by taking banned cultural expressions out of hiding and onto the streets. The Kambule is a powerful manifestation of culture, spirituality, beauty, royalty, and pride.
This production will feature Canadian premiere performances by Artistic Director Patrick Parson and Associate Choreographer Gabby Kamino accompanied by the exciting live sounds of the Creole drumming ensemble.
