Chi Series Toronto: David Clink, Kat Kruger, Jason Taniguchi says
The Chiaroscuro Reading Series, Toronto Branch, presents authors David Clink, Kat Kruger, Jason Taniguchi, plus music by Kari Maaren. Followed by Sandra Kasturi's 50th birthday booze-up!

DAVID CLINK’s most recent work, The Role of Lightning in Evolution – will be launched by Chizine Publications in November 2016. He hosts and organizes the annual Dead Poets Society Night in Toronto. His poem, “A sea monster tells his story” won the Aurora Award for Best Poem/Song in 2013.

KAT KRUGER is a freelance writer with over ten years’ experience in the entertainment and gaming industries. Her first novel, The Night Has Teeth, boasts over 2 million reads on Wattpad and her trilogy has been translated into German by Random House. In The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction Charles de Lint called the series “a superb and satisfying series that creates something fresh out of its source material and doesn’t let the reader down.”

JASON TANIGUCHI is the sort of guy who, when packing boxes for a move, likes nothing better than to crank up the soundtrack for The Last Starfighter or Silverado and feel triumphant surges of orchestral power that trick him into feeling that packing boxes is awesome. He's the kind of guy who goes to Swiss Chalet and orders the quarter chicken, white meat, with fries, and three, count 'em, three tangy Chalet sauces - which he proceeds to pour all over the chicken and fries, drowning them in a sea of gravy. He is precisely, exactly the type of guy who writes a book called Jason Taniguchi's Very Sensible Stories and Poems for Grown Persons, now available from ChiZine Publications. He is, however, not the kind of guy you want by your side in a barfight. You want him on the other side.

KARI MAAREN is the Aurora-winning musician behind "Beowulf Pulled My Arm Off" and "Everybody Hates Elves." Both CDs are in their second printing, and much hilarity has ensued.

SANDRA KASTURI is shamelessly tagging on her birthday celebration to the ChiSeries event because she is too lazy to coordinate a party, and too busy enjoying gin & tonics to care.
