Four Voices: Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter & Indigo Girls Amy says
Legendary artists and longtime friends Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and the Indigo Girls' Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, will share the stage at Massey Hall in a special group performance as Four Voices, the only Canadian stop on the group’s limited North American tour.

The friendship between these four acclaimed artists spans over twenty-five years, beginning when Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Baez invited Ray and Saliers to perform at a 1991 benefit at the Berkeley Community Theatre. Upon accepting the invitation, Ray and Saliers suggested enlisting five-time Grammy Award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter. After a successful performance, the four of them reconnected a year or so later for a performance at an Earth Day Celebration in Boston. Most recently, while together at Baez’s 75th birthday concert at the Beacon Theatre (where they performed "The Water is Wide"), they discussed the possibility of going on tour together and—one year later—the Four Voices Tour was confirmed.

For this special concert, Baez, Chapin Carpenter, Ray and Saliers will bring songs from each of their acclaimed catalogues to the Massey Hall stage, on the Hall’s 123rd birthday, to perform together as Four Voices.
