The Canadian Art Foundation presents critically acclaimed German artist Wolfgang Tillmans in Toronto.

Tillmans has radically redefined how photographic images are made, exhibited and encountered. This talk, along with a talk in Vancouver in October, marks Tillmans’s first visit to Canada in more than 20 years.

Tillmans will be joined in conversation by New York– and Toronto-based writer and critic Tom McDonough, a lead contributor to the recently published monograph "Wolfgang Tillmans: What’s wrong with redistribution?" (Walther König).

Based in Berlin and London, Wolfgang Tillmans was the recipient of the 2015 Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography. He has had numerous prestigious appointments, including artist trustee at Tate Britain, a professorship at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and membership in the Royal Academy of Arts. In 2000, Tillmans was the first photographer, and non-British artist, to receive the Turner Prize.
