About Joy Phillips

Young singer-songwriter, Joy Phillips’ debut album was recorded at well-known, Loud Mouse Studios, in Toronto by highly respected producer, Ben Nudds (Alyssa Reid, Colin Munroe, Virginia to Vegas, Rouletta). The first single off of the Album, Reckless, has been blowing people away since it’s pre-release on April 2nd. The record has been described as “musically, oozing emotion.... very heart-felt...” - Phil Demetro, senior engineer at Lacquer Channel (Toronto).

Joy’s fresh and unique sound, which is somewhere along the lines of Adele meets The Black Keys, did not happen overnight. For over 7 years now, Joy has been pounding the pavement and performing all over Toronto and abroad. In these 7 years she has refined her style and built a strong local fan-base. Her five song EP, Reckless, offers a diverse collection of songs that range from having a very pop-rock feel to showcasing real elements of folk and even country. Her voice is powerful and soulful as are her lyrics and performances.
