MYUNG-SUN KIM will be completing her time as our Aritst-in-residence for the Winter Island Program. Myung-Sun Kim's current work on the evolving cultural culinary practices and cuisine of Korea, explores food as a way to tell stories of history of war, migration, colonialism, resilience, and healing. She will be working with guest artists Luisa Milan and Adrian Dilena on a special experiential dinner to end her residency.

Myung-Sun Kim performance feast will explore mythical consumption, where alchemy, healing, and transformation can be gained through food. Following the performance, the procession of the feast will instruct the participants through historical narratives, consumable artefacts from culinary adaptation of Korean cuisine. Some of the dishes are pork ssam, milk thistle, balloon flower roots with cucumber, kimchi pancakes and rice wine!

Luisa Milan will be sharing the mythical ingredient of the apple. We invite you to consume its story through her misty divine feminine elixir, made with apple, lemon, rose water, rosemary, honey and a touch of salt. The apple will reappear later in the evening in the form of a dessert in a delicious Apple Clafoutis!

Adrian Dilena offering will be a reflection on how lineages between each ingredient draw from powerful social, historical and ecological narratives. Join us in this thoughtful gathering for this contribution of salted roasted beets over hot coals, a barely lentil risotto with sage and goat cheese in leek ash with bread.

There is limited capacity for the feast, so be sure to let us know if you would like to attend by RSVPing. The feast will start around 5:30pm and cost $10.
