Another Story Bookshop presents "The Panel is Political"

Ad Astra Comix event featuring Nicole Burton, Farrah Khan and Seemi Jamil

Drawing the Line: Indian Women Fight Back! is a new comics anthology by women in India, talking about their experiences with sexism, shadeism, sisterhood, and community activism. Toronto-based Ad Astra Comix launched the book's North American release last September, and "Drawing the Line" is now being read in university classrooms and used in women's organizations across North America.

For our event, we're inviting comic readers and creators to join us for an open discussion on how "The Panel is Political".... how comics reflecting diverse experiences and social awareness effect our lives. This discussion will be opened with a presentation by Ad Astra Comix, North American publisher of "Drawing the Line," on how a workshop in New Delhi turned into an internationally successful comic book.

Featuring Nicole Burton from Ad Astra Comix, Seemi Jamil from the Afghan Women's Centre, and Farrah Khan, co-creator of: "Heartbeats: the IZZAT Project Comic Book: and "We Believe Survivors" Colouring Books
