Imagine Holly Golightly 50 years after ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ – now a young girl of 70, dripping in pearls and diamonds as big as the Ritz. That gives you an idea of the stars of this lovely fashion doc. These women – the oldest is 96 – are the muses of Ari Seth Cohen, a New York fashion blogger who photographs stylish ladies over 50. Since appearing on Cohen’s blog Advanced Style, they’ve modelled in the glossies and campaigns for luxury fashion brands like Lanvin.

Though whether older models are just another five-minute fad is another question. But the lesson of the doc has nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with growing old as gracefully or disgracefully as you like, staying young in spirit. These inspiring women are full of energy and hilarious. Do you still dance, the director asks one of them? ‘No, all my partners are dead,’ she jokes.
