Time Out says

2 out of 5 stars
Grown-ups couldn’t see Snuffleupagus, so how would they be able to comprehend an imminent alien invasion? It’s up to a little-miss-perfect teen (Tisdale), her nerdy little brother (Jenkins) and their cousins to save the world. Credit John Schultz’s fantasy-comedy for making its young heroes realistically techno-savvy, and for knowing its demographic: The high gross-out factor, nauseatingly fast action and loads of slapstick will appeal to the Nickelodeon set. Jenkins is a bit too McDreamy to play the geeky underdog, however, and adult viewers will be nostalgic for the chubby, bucktoothed and truly dorky cast of The Goonies.
