Time Out says
Autistic kid and washed-up FBI agent on the run from out-of-control government security outfit: such is the not very high concept which the fitfully interesting Becker has to dumb himself down to the point of ignominy to put over. Withholding wit, invention and style, he barely acknowledges life in the real world. John Barry's score, with its reiterated 'autistic kid' theme, would have sounded corny to Ivor Novello, though it's in keeping with the general principle of patronising the audience.
