Time Out says

A feature culled from one of those '7-Up' style documentaries in which the film-makers revisit a handful of characters every so often for updates. Here, the subjects are three women in a textile plant, in Wittstock, East Germany, and the period ranges from 1964 to 1996. The women are personable enough, but the film covers too much time to go into a lot of detail, and there's an inordinate amount of footage devoted to the comely Elsbeth smirking into the camera (her aspirations are tragically funny: a trip to Bulgaria and a Trabant - no, it's not funny, really). Boredom is averted by dismantling the Berlin Wall, with sorry results.
