The Trellis

Time Out says

Increasingly, nurseries in Brisbane aren't just places to browse for plants, pots and watering cans: they're social hubs. The Trellis (formerly part of the Eden Gardens group) is designed as a shady place to kick back with the kids and catch up for lunch or coffee. Kids' trikes are littered about the place for children to ride and discard as they please. There are dozens of outdoor tables: some alongside the little kids' playground, and some on the terrace overlooking the pond. Order some scones, or a nice piece of carrot cake, or a bagel, burger, salad or sandwich. Coffee is done well here, and they also have craft beers on tap if you so desire.

The nursery has a big range of tropicals and succulents, arranged along a pathway that circles the main compound. A grand Balinese-inspired building houses pots, gifts, potting mix, garden tools, artificial animals and other curios. The most interesting part here is the terrarium 'sushi bar': literally a sushi conveyer belt carrying the bits and pieces you need to make your own terrarium. You're welcome to sit down and assemble one if you feel like it, or better still, book in for a group workshop where they'll explain how it works.

It's a chill kind of place decorated with cool murals, and there's live music performed here on selected weekends. The traffic of Gympie Road thunders by mere metres away, but you wouldn't know it. If the vibe strikes you as familiar it may be because the Trellis has the same owners as Chandler's the Nurso. They're onto a good thing.
