Time Out says

Mezyan, in Hamra, is a lively and friendly mezze restaurant, which brings food from across the region (and beyond) into the atmosphere of a pre-war Damascus-style bar. With a wide selection of dishes to choose from, a friendly atmosphere and exemplary service, you can really begin to feel like one of the family.

You can be sure that every time you visit Mezyan, you won’t be disappointed. It commands an almost legendary status in the food scene in Hamra. Dishes such as a lamb and cherry kebab, fattet djaj (chicken with tahini) and spicy fish cooked with coriander prove popular and an updated dish of the day worth asking about. This is more than just a hearty foodie hangout, however. Mezyan also does a great job in putting on live events. Go on the right night and you can hear the Jazz Gang playing and don’t be surprised if the tables are shifted to the sides to make a temporary dancefloor.
