Wat Ratchapradit

Wat Ratchapradit review Rate it

Less grandiose than its neighbours, this pretty, little, grey marble temple has an inviting, contemplative atmosphere. Another East-West hybrid, it was built in 1864 on a coffee plantation bought for the Thammayut Nikai sect by Rama IV (who is depicted observing a lunar eclipse in the murals depicting festivals). His ashes rest under a replica of the Phra Buddha Sihing in a vihaan flanked by two prang.
