A granite spire bears the names of 73 people killed by the military during the 1973 overthrow of the dictatorship, though an accurate toll still awaits investigation. The surrounding gallery displays inform later generations. Survivors and relatives maintaining the site are keen to talk about their experiences. It also hosts other rights protests.
Monuments to the massacre of 6 October 1976 and other democratic struggles occupy a sculpture garden at Thammasat University, just inside the Thanon Na Phra That gate.
