Time Out says

A general store standing through 100 years of history

This specialty mini-market has been cornerstone of Haifa’s Downtown since Ottoman times.  Now having reached its 100th anniversary, Suidan represents more than just a food market.  Owner Aziz practically escorts shoppers through the aisles and encourages them to try new products.  He holds great pride in the offerings there which range from Arabic-style- brined fresh cheeses, to seasonal pantone cake, and freshly ground spices held in old-fashion wooden boxes. At the same time this gourmet gem is the place to go in the city for your Santa chocolates in the winter, and Easter bunnies in the Spring, for those who seek such seasonal and other hard to find Western treats.
