Time Out says

Enban is, first and foremost, a CD and DVD shop specialising in the kind of terminally obscure Japanese indie that could never hope to bother the Oricon charts. And for this, it is to be cherished. It's a spiritual home to artists such as Tenniscoats, My Pal Foot Foot, Nisennenmondai and many more – counter culture figures who are happy exploring their own muse, almost wilfully unaware of what the rest of the country is doing.

Enban also hosts occasional live events and film shows. We recommend attending what used to be known as an Enban Jamboree (nobody is sure why the name changed); a semi-regular mini-festival featuring the artists that line the shop shelves. Freaky fun for adults of an indie bent.
