Time Out says

If you’re visiting Ueno Park this sakura season, stop by this pop-up street festa, where you can experience traditional Japanese activities like calligraphy, kumi-himo braiding, obi (kimono belt) tying, koto music performances and more. There are also opportunities to sample classic Japanese food and drinks including bento boxes, miso soup, matcha tea and traditional sweets.

The event is held on the southside of Ueno Park’s Shinobazu Pond, with special tatami mats set up for the various workshops. Activities and workshops are scheduled at 11am, 1pm and 3pm each day. To apply for one of the workshops, visit the website.
