What is i Light Singapore?

Previously known as i Light Marina Bay, i Light Singapore (iLSG) was conceived in 2010 as an initiative to revitalise the Marina Bay district. The event also aims to advocate for sustainability through its art installations and programmes. Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), this year's i Light Singapore (iLSG 2024) is set to return for its 10th edition, promising an exciting and vibrant celebration of sustainability and creativity.

When is i Light Singapore happening in 2024?

i Light Singapore 2024 will run from May 31 to June 23, 2024, showcasing a diverse array of light art installations by artists from Singapore and around the world.

What are the opening hours for i Light Singapore 2024?

The official opening hours for i Light Singapore are 7.30pm to 11pm daily. Hours will extend to 12 midnight on Friday and Saturdays. However, do note that timings for various programmes may vary. 

Is there an admission fee for i Light Singapore?

For the most part, i Light Singapore is a free event. However, certain programmes are ticketed. 

What is i Light Singapore 2024’s theme?

This year’s edition will undertake the theme Cyclical Nature – with its installations revolving around the topic of sustainability.

How many art installations will there be?

Visitors can anticipate 17 artworks by 25 international and local artists – some examples include Studio Vertigo from the United Kingdom, Juan Fuentes Studio from Spain, Yun from Singapore, Koros Design from Hungary, and more. Prepare to delve into interactive artworks that explore the boundless potential of everyday objects in line with three Rs: redesign, restoration, and repurposing.

Where will i Light Singapore 2024’s art installations be located at?

The 17 different art installations of i Light Singapore 2024 will be scattered across the familiar precincts of Marina Bay, South Beach, and Millenia Walk. And in an exciting first, they will also reach into the Tanjong Pagar district.

Will there be food at i Light Singapore 2024?

Yes, there will be food! Come with an empty stomach, because GastroBeats, an annual food festival happening concurrently with iLSG 2024, will be spoiling guests with a wide variety of local and international food choices such as Mexican tacos, Russian dumplings and Singaporean prawn noodles. Following this year’s theme, there will also be several sustainably-produced food options cultivated through organic farming methods, locally-grown seasonal produce and ethically sourced meat. Do note that in the spirit of sustainability, GastroBeats will be encouraging visitors to bring their own cups, flasks, and food containers to reduce waste.

Besides art and food, what else is there to expect at i Light Singapore 2024?

For the first time, i Light Singapore will be happening alongside the sustainable lifestyle event, The Conscious Festival, through an exciting collaboration. Visitors can indulge in a series of wellness workshops, transformative talks, a bootcamp for conscious leadership, music performances and an outdoor marketplace. This is The Conscious Festival’s eighth run, with its duration extended in partnership with iLSG 2024.
