The 56 best restaurants in Buenos Aires

1. Indulge in Chocolate

With these cold days, what better than eating chocolate? That's why you can't miss this proposal. Every Saturday of the month, the Festival du Chocolat takes place at Sofitel Recoleta from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. Enjoy the most delicious dishes at a sweet buffet, featuring alfajores, bonbons, truffles, and everything you can imagine with chocolate. There's also a savory buffet with bruschettas, cheese scones, wraps, and more.

To wash it all down, the menu is accompanied by hot infusions like coffee, or a glass of Chandon or a non-alcoholic drink.

Note: Reservations are required through the link on the hotel's Instagram account.

Where: Posadas 1232, Sofitel Recoleta.

2. Celebrate Sommelier Day

Monday, June 3rd, is International Sommelier Day. Yes, for those who recommend the best wines. So, we suggest paying them tribute at La Malbequería, a spot in Palermo known not only for its wide and varied wine selection curated by renowned sommelier Fabricio Portelli but also for its extensive meat menu.

On that Monday, everyone who comes for lunch or dinner will be offered a welcome glass of wine specially selected to celebrate Sommelier Day.

Note: Next to La Malbequería is Lo de Jesús, where you can enjoy top-quality meats, pastas, and fish.

Where: Gurruchaga 1418, La Malbequería.

3. Participate in a Beer and Gin Contest

Let's switch things up: on Saturday, June 8th, at the Multipurpose Park Station in Avellaneda, a competition will determine the best beers in Argentina and South America. Organized by the Beer Tasting Center and the South Beer Cup, judges will taste different varieties without any extra information to select the best beer. The awards ceremony is at 7 PM.

On the same day and at the same place, the 4th edition of the Argentine Gin Cup takes place, following the same format as the beer contest. The awards ceremony is at 6:20 PM. Tickets can be obtained through the contest's Instagram account or at Bierlife in San Telmo.

Note: Your ticket includes a complimentary glass and a free drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

Where: Av. Güemes 700, Multipurpose Park Station.

4. Don't Miss "School of Rock" at the Gran Rex

Here's a beautiful plan for the whole family: on June 20th, the most anticipated musical of the year arrives on Corrientes Street, featuring stars like Agustín 'Soy Rada' Aristarán, Ángela Leiva, Sofía Pachano, and Santiago Otero Ramos. It also includes a talented band of children who sing and play instruments live on stage.

After triumphing in cities like New York, London, Australia, New Zealand, São Paulo, and Madrid, the musical inspired by the 2003 classic film "School of Rock" lands in Buenos Aires, and the anticipation is high.

For art lovers, visiting Buenos Aires' museums is always a great plan. Here are two suggestions:

On Thursday, June 13th, from 6 PM, the "Consent Heritage" exhibit opens at the José Hernández Popular Art Museum, showcasing over 40 pieces of both traditional and contemporary crafts.

If you're interested in our ancestors' history, don't miss the "Signs of America: The Contemporary Legacy of Our Ancestors" exhibit opening on Thursday, June 27th, at 6 PM at the Luis Perlotti Sculpture Museum, featuring works by Argentine artist Pablo Madrid.

Note: For more information on how to get tickets, visit the official page of each museum.

Where: Av. del Libertador 2373, José Hernández Popular Art Museum; Pujol 644, Luis Perlotti Sculpture Museum.

6. For the Extra-Long Weekend and Father's Day, Visit Rural Towns and Eat Delicious Food

June brings Father's Day on Sunday the 16th, amid an extra-long weekend with holidays on Monday the 17th, Thursday the 20th, and Friday the 21st. It's the perfect time to pack your bag and escape the city for peace, bird sounds, and delicious food. Here are two perfect gastro options, ideal for celebrating dad.

One is "Corazonada" restaurant in San Antonio de Areco. Chef Paula Mendez Carreras offers a carefully thought-out multi-course menu with seasonal ingredients. It’s worth traveling the 100+ kilometers from the city to visit Corazonada.

The other option is "Le Four" a French restaurant in the town of Azcuénaga, owned by chef Sebastien Fouillade. The ambiance and cuisine transport you to the French countryside. After lunch, you can visit the town or continue to Areco, just 20 minutes away.

Where: Belgrano 569, Corazonada; Av. Pedro Terren 328, Le Four.

Miranda performs for the first time at the Movistar Arena. The recent winners of the Gardel de Oro Award will shine on stage on June 18, 20, 21, and 22.

The pop band, consisting of Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas, known for hits like "Fantasmas" and "Don," will perform their best songs and new releases at the Movistar Arena. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t wait and get yours now.

Note: Juan Ingaramo will also be present to open the shows.

8. Support the National Team and Have a Good Time

The Copa América arrives in June, and the Argentine national team's excitement is renewed. Starting June 20th, Argentina begins defending their 2021 title, and we have a plan for you to enjoy the group stage matches.

The Beer Club, with several locations in Buenos Aires, offers happy hour on different beers and cocktails on June 20th during the Argentina vs. Canada match. Tempted? Wait, there’s more.

For Argentina's second match on June 25th against Chile, there’s a 2-for-1 deal on double cheeseburgers. And finally, on June 29th, during Argentina vs. Peru, happy hour is back as in the first match.

9. Eat (and Drink) Well in the Heart of Chacarita

Chacarita is making its mark on Buenos Aires' gastronomic scene. From June 18th to 22nd, Casa Seis offers a four-course menu with wines.

This wine bar, with a selection of wines from various regions curated by sommelier Florencia Turdera, will delight many palates with an interesting menu and wines from labels like Gordo Motoneta and Elefante Wines. The cost is $35,000, and you can reserve here.

Note: You can also taste these wines as a flight without the multi-course menu.

Where: Guevara 495, Casa Seis.

10. Celebrate International Pride Day

As every year, June 28th marks International Pride Day, where the LGBTTTIQ+ community commemorates the 1969 New York riots, a clear demonstration of their fight for rights.

We suggest celebrating at the iconic Casa Brandon. It’s a Civil and Cultural Association in Buenos Aires that describes itself as "an unclassifiable place." Located in Villa Crespo, it offers various activities, including an art gallery, the Brandon party, the Brandon Club, and Brandon Tevé, an audiovisual content producer. There's always something to do and enjoy at Casa Brandon.

Where: Luis María Drago 236, Casa Brandon.
