Have you ever wanted to spend time inside of a geodesic dome that wasn’t located in the middle of a Central Floridian tourist trap? Well, you’re in luck. These vacation rentals not too far from New York all offer the chance to not only be surrounded by nature, but immersed in some pretty stunning architecture as well.

1. Geo Dome on Farm Upstate Catskills, $350 per night
This gorgeous dome in the Catskills is located near farmers markets, hiking trails and beautiful forest. On top of that, it's surrounded by a working farm with sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens. So basically, it's about as far from NYC as you can get. For more creative types, the rental also features a full-service recording studio and fiber arts workshop space.

2. Geodesic Dome House With Hot Tub
This rustic home features a rooftop meditation room as well as a dramatic spiral staircase and state-of-the-art hot tub. The location is near well-known micro-breweries (in case you're craving a little more civilization) as well as hiking trails and lakes for swimming. Oh, and did we mention there's a hot tub?

3. Amazing Solar Powered Dome, $131 per night
This solar-powered dome is just a short distance from lakes, rivers, and the Canadian border if you're into that sort of thing. It's also surrounded by seven golf courses, hiking trailers and more. The house may be "off the grid" but you'll still be able to take advantage of a 46-inch flat screen television and high speed internet.
