What keeps us awake these days aside from nocturnal thunderstorms? The fact that Troy Sivan just dropped his new music video for the recently released “Got Me Started”, and that it was filmed entirely in Bangkok and features a number of local talents, including gender-neutral superstar PP Krit.
Directed by Gordon von Steiner, who also directed Troy’s last music video for hit song “Rush”, the video portrays the young Australian star carousing about the city from day to night. You can see him strutting down the Chong Nonsi skywalk in Sathorn, roaming through Chinatown, sipping coffee with a Thai hottie, getting dolled up in a drag queen’ dressing room, and dancing on a rooftop and empty shophouse with a diverse cast of dancers in a fluid set choreographed by Sergio Reis and Mauro van de Kerkhof. All throughout, the video is interspersed with montages of stylishly clad locals, including Drag Race Thailand winner Angele Anang and pop artist PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn.

Chong Nonsi Skywalk
The iconic skywalk appears in the first scene and reappears throughout the video. Looming over the Sathorn and Narathiwat intersection, the walk’s giant arches are a great spot to get cool photos with some of Bangkok’s most distinctive skyscrapers. Nearby you have Chong Nonsi Park, a green space repurposed from an abandoned waterway. The skywalk was also featured in the 2018 Chanel No 5 commercial featuring Gaspard Ulliel.
Yaowarat
Fun times in Bangkok are even more guaranteed with a visit to Yaowarat. In this music vid, you see Troy running freely through Chinatown’s main street with local drag icon Angele Anang.
W District
We can’t confirm the exact location of the Sathorn rooftop where most of the dancing takes place, but we do know where the end scene was filmed. The MV concludes with shots of Troye and a circle of dancers on the helipad of W District, a popular mixed-use development in Phra Khanong. The public can’t access the spot where the video was filmed, but you can see pretty much the same view from Cielo Sky Bar on the 46th floor of the same building. You can also enjoy the many food and drinks offerings around the hood, which is packed with restaurants, izakaya eateries, bars, and a market offering cheap eats.
