Here’s every light piece that’s being showcased at the first Awakening Festival in Samyan
Time Out is wrapping up 2021 in high spirits, with the first touchdown of its signature lighting event Awakening in the bustling neighborhood of Samyan. Awakening Samyan, set as a prelude to the more ambitious Awakening Bangkok in Charoenkrung in January, lights up the dark streets and alleys of two Samyan quarters—Dragon Town and Suanluang Square—with eight mesmerizing artworks.

A guiding light for humans for centuries, lanterns are a symbol of hope. In this installation, the shining lanterns are aligned like a screen of the retro Nokia-designed Snake game, which shows the reptile crawling forward to find food—just like all of us who thrive in hope, searching for answers that will feed our mind and soul.
