The Croatian National Banks are to release a brand new 25 Kuna coin, and they're calling on the public to choose its design.

The commemorative coin marks the 25th anniversary of Croatian Independence. The holiday is celebrated on October 8, with the coin going into circulation on October 7.

Potential designs for the coin can be viewed on the bank's website, where members of the public can vote for their favourite. They'll be choosing from three options, all the work of sculptor Damir Mataušić. The winning design will be embossed on the 50,000 coins. Over the past 25 years, only 11 series of commemorative 25 kuna coins have been made - making this one even more special.

Check out the designs and have your say on the survey here.
