For Croatians, Easter is a time of tradition and family get-togethers. But if you’re in Istria for the holiday weekend, there are plenty of attractions and activities to see and do.

On the main square in Poreč, a market fair opens from Good Friday morning, while kids can look forward to face-painting, board games and all kinds of games with eggs on the Saturday. DJ Mister G will be spinning tunes from 10am. Feasting begins on Easter Sunday at 10am, when the Big Band Pula will be knocking out a few tunes through until 1pm. The market stays in place until 4pm on Easter Monday.

Festivities begin in Rovinj on Easter Saturday in the city centre with concerts on the waterfront. These include the family-friendly sounds of Vaya con Dinos, a brass band parade, the danceable tunes of Sugar Notes and spinners, the DJ So Chic trio. There will be plenty of local delicacies to sample and painters will be awaiting young faces to decorate.

Easter in Vrsar means games, a children’s workshop and live music by the harbour on Saturday, March 30.
