This concept hotel aims to give visitors a real flavour of life in rural Valais, but without roughing it. Spread over several sympathetically converted barns in the tiny village of Commeire, the hotel’s rooms are simple yet luxurious, rustic yet modern. Choose from a double room in a multi-room barn, or hire a whole barn for yourself and your friends complete with kitchen, lounge and fireplace. Close to the larger village of Orsières, Commeire may be a world away from your everyday life but it’s surprisingly accessible. As well as hiking, biking and snowshoeing in winter, the area is ripe for cultural exploration, from cheese dairies to cow fights.
