If you happened to be strolling around Harajuku this weekend, you may have noticed one of those queues that goes on forever, heralding some or other new opening. This time it was for London cupcake brand Lola's, which launched its first Tokyo store on October 3 inside brand-new centre Cascade Harajuku. What started as a catering business in 2006 has grown into one of the most popular cupcake shops in the UK capital and is now set to take Tokyo by storm, offering 15 different types, baked daily for maximum freshness. The cupcakes are made by a pâtissier who trained at the store's London headquarters so you can be sure you're getting the authentic recipe. The menu includes Londoners’ favourites Red Velvet, Cookie & Cream and Banoffee, as well as limited-edition treats made just for Tokyo’s store including Tokyo Vanilla and Matcha. Also look out for their upcoming Halloween-themed cupcakes...
