Friendly, trendy and spacious, Kalapapruek has park views and a menu strong on regional specialities, such as roti with curry and Chiang Mai's beloved khao soi, plus Western dishes and cakes. It's owned by the son of aristocrat Mom Chao Bhisadhet Rachanee, whose original restaurant is in the family house (27 Thanon Pramuan, Bangrak, 0 2236 4335).

Love the smoke duck breast salad and its beet root dressings!! The atmosphere is great for a small gathering.

use to be house music playing in the middle of the day... was so bad, but now it's ok.
