If you walk under the bridge on the Cowgate that runs adjacent to this cavernous venue, you'll reach a spot where you can hear, at full blast ,what's going on inside. These days, the line-ups at Bannermans are heavy on indie-schmindie, having hosted early shows by the likes of Idlewild and Biffy Clyro before they both discovered tunes. The main room hosts triple-band bills on most evenings; the maze-like layout hosts several bars if you want a breather.
