Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby (2000)
Director: Matthew Bright
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Lyonne, a bulimic career junkie, and Celedonio, a lesbian psycho murderer, are on the lam from the iniquities of the juvenile detention system. They believe sanctuary awaits in Tijuana with one Sister Gomez. A no holds barred assault on received notions of taste, decency, righteousness and good film-making, this doesn't even begin on the rails. Picking up the perspective of Lyonne's White Girl as she's sent down for 25 years for dealing, prostitution and armed robbery, it mainlines for a while on her group bingeing and purging parties. Her evidently crazy cellmate Cyclona (Celedonio) makes a few passes, but it's not until their first snack break-cum-bloodbath as fugitives that Cyclona shows her truly disturbed colours. So they rampage down to Mexico. Perhaps for the better, it gets worse. Come the gruesome, purgatorial finale and an astoundingly degenerate turn from Gallo, the film really lets its guts hang out, and you finally get the measure of its black hysterical horror.Author: NB
