Director: Takashi Ishii
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Five rank social outsiders (bankrupt businessman, unemployed salaryman, dismissed cop, pimp and male prostitute) team up to rob a huge amount of money from the outwardly respectable Ogoshi yakuza gang; an implacably gay hitman ('Beat' Takeshi in an eyepatch) is sent to hunt them down. Both the visuals and the all-star cast are knockout, but it's the mix of genre renewal, social allegory and dirty (mostly gay) sexuality which makes the film extraordinary. The climaxes are so exciting they should come with a health warning.Author: TR
