From Time Out London

Bollywood’s most expensive film to date is a superhero sci-fi 3D fantasy with sizzling songs. Shekhar (Shah Rukh Khan) a nerdy Tamilian Londoner designs a video game (see title) in order to prove to his son that he’s a ‘cool dude’. You must suspend belief in order to enjoy what happens next in this passable and unpretentious Hindi flick. The set-action pieces are spectacular. The filmmakers obviously enjoyed trashing a London bus and destroying the gothic Mumbai Victoria railway terminus. ‘King Khan’ holds it all together, as he gets to walk sideways along a speeding train, to do a Michael Jackson impersonation, slap the heroine’s butt, cruise a male immigration officer and generally kick-ass. The CGI imagery is on par with any recent Hollywood blockbuster; the result is just as dumb.

Posted on Feb 19 2012 20:29 Just seen the film on TV. Good to see Bollywood doing CGI on par with Hollywood, shame about the storyline. Overall a fun film and good soundtrack. Bring on the franchise!

Posted on Nov 20 2011 21:45 This film is total and utter rubbish, it's a cross between terminator 1 and 2 Indian version, so appauling I was tempted to ask for my money back. I cannot believe anybody can say this film can be rated beyond 1 star. Do not waste your money

Posted on Nov 09 2011 15:09 Ra.One has superlative special effects, a stunning leading lady, several jaw-dropping action sequences, some genuinely quirky moments and a chillingly sinister villain. The music is mind blowing. Its a great thing that Bollywood now has international singers in their movies.

Posted on Nov 09 2011 14:44 Ra.One is far from being a perfect sci-fi thriller. I think people in bollywood do not understand by the word 'Cult Films'. Ra.One is one such Cult Film which has changed the perspective of Bollywood. Thank you SRK and the visual effects of his to make such an awesome film. Don't go on the reviews. Rs 18 crore in India on opening day. Ra.One grosses Rs 170 cr in first five days, breaks all previous records.

Posted on Nov 03 2011 23:12 I loved this film!!! It's so unpretentious and overloaded, you can't compare hindi films with Hollywood, you have to let go of your Western perspective and just go with it:-)= The music is the best part - love it!!!! PS I was a background dancer in this film BUT still objecyive, of course:-)
