Doors Open Day takes place September 14-20 and celebrates Glasgow’s industrial heritage. For the first time in its history, the event will feature a dedicated children’s programme and with more than 40 events taking place for the kids - here’s a look at just five of the highlights.

‘Mazing Memory Museum
Find your way through a straw bale maze and discover a creative memory workshop at its centre, where you'll be able to design and decorate a ceramic model.
Riverside Museum, Fri-Sun, 10am-4pm.

From Tram Shed to Turner Prize
Ever looked at a Turner Prize entry and though, 'My kid could do that?' This workshop for 5-12 year olds (and their families) will offer a range of arts activities and the chance to experiment with different materials.
Tramway, Sat-Sun, 11am and 1pm.

Digging In
Find out what the conditions were like in World War One by exploring a reconstructed trench with hands-on activities.
Near the Burrell Collection, Pollok Park, Sat-Sun, 10am-5pm.

Lambhill Stables
This converted canalside building has been transformed into a vibrant community hub and will feature a garden treasure hunt, eco-arts and crafts, outdoor play and face-painting.
Lambhill Stables, 11 Canal Bank North, Tues-Fri 10am-2pm, Sat 10am-4pm.

Animal Magic
Ever been on a safari in Glasgow? This one hour tour will introduce you to some of the city’s animal sculptures. Bring your binoculars and zoom camera to see if you can spot them all.
Meet at the pavement outside St Andrew’s in the Square, Sat-Sun, 11am. One adult required per child.

View the full children's programme, or pick up a treasure trail map from Glasgow's libraries.
