Time Out says
A rather obvious Canadian spin on Midnight Express (right down to the domineering Keith Emerson electronic score) has Heard as the small-time drugs runner inveigled into making a marijuana pick-up in Morocco, since his best mate McHattie is being held captive by gangland boss Znaimer. Linking up with bohemian cohort Helm (previously the singing drummer in The Band), their plan starts going awry when Moroccan contact Rhys-Davies takes them to sample the goods. Subsequent developments marry wearying predictability with an undercurrent of xenophobia, suspense being predicated on the notion that Moroccan policemen in dark glasses are invariably up to no good.Author: TJ
