Time Out says

Tue Sep 2 2008

The latest from the writer-director pair of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer – responsible for such movies as ‘Epic Movie’ and ‘Meet the Spartans’ – is  a cynical and limp attempt to cash in on their own parody bandwagon. Here, the shameless duo use a ‘Cloverfield’-type scenario as an excuse to chuck in yet more of their favourite movie moments and characters, irrespective of any connection to the disaster movie genre.

The result is a series of extraneous, deplorably unfunny scenes and sketches stitched together in completely haphazard fashion. One minute we’re aghast at an appalling Amy Winehouse lookalike with sabre teeth and bedraggled beehive, the next pondering the relevance of a scene with the cattle-gun killer from ‘No Country for Old Men’. In short, this wholly contemptuous farrago stinks to high heaven.

  • i think it was the worst movie ever! DO NOT GO TO SEE IT! it was mainly blood and guts. it should have not been invented. i thought it was going to be a great film but it wasn't. it was a complete and utter disaster.

  • Well. There were some really funny bits but on the whole it was a kind of crap. It all depends on your sense of humor. This film, unlike scary movie which i loved, was really random but there are bits that make you laugh out loud. Its a laugh, harmless fun i guess. I probably wouldnt see it again.

  • Probably the worst film I have ever witnessed. It is well too jumpy, when they are in a desert, out pops Amy Winehouse?! Its Terrible, distance yourself from this movie.

  • the movie is sporadically funny but becomes indifferent as it starts taking too many genres on - the satire on juno-sex and city-enchanted was hilarious -as was the spoof of wanted and no country for old men but it ran out of ideas as they over did the superhero movies and batman was the worst part -it got boring then -it is like too many cooks spoil the broth
