Time Out says

An old biddy campaigns against cabbage in an old folk's home. Not exactly The Shawshank Redemption, but also not quite as unpromising as it might first appear. After the death of her oppressive husband, Mrs Caldicot (Collins in a hand-tailored role) is packed off to a rest home by their uncaring son Capaldi. With the help of a kind nurse, she gets off the pills and into action, fighting a regime that stupefies its patients with drugs to save on cost and effort. It turns out that cabbage is just the starting point. (From a novel by Vernon Coleman.) ASm.

  • Probably the most boring of movies I have ever watched, I was so excited to be seeing a movie with Collins in, however I was less than enthused the kind of movie whereby you have to fall to sleep ten times then regret waking.....such a shame.

  • Appalling. Patronising, simplistic, unfunny. Someone once described sentimentality as the 'half-brother to thought'. This is exactly the level that this film plays at. All the cards are stacked in the heroine's favour so its impossible to genuinely engage with her or the film's 'message'. Treat with extreme caution!

  • watched film this afternoon on bbc 1, brilliant. loved pauline collins acting. Ordinary people fighting for their rights and winning against greedy, soulless big business companies, whose only motivation is money, not people. Great stuff!!
