It takes brass cojones to end a film the way Paul McGuigan does ‘Push’: making a sequel of a successful film is one thing, closing on a cliffhanger and assuming sequels will follow is quite another. But little about ‘Push’ makes sense. It builds a mythology involving psychics, telekinetics and seers – retitled Pushers, Movers and Watchers for the dumb among us. Chris Evans is Nick, a Mover fleeing the sinister Division who becomes entangled with Dakota Fanning’s brassy Watcher. There’s a fair amount to enjoy, notably Fanning’s performance and a manic sense of unpredictability. But silliness rules the day: plot holes abound and are plugged with techno-pounding action sequences and more nonsensical guff. As a TV pilot, this might have worked; as a film, it’s loud, confusing and inane.

  • Just after watching this film - it is the biggest load of ... - well you know what I mean. It was boring - pointless and the plot must have been written by an eleven year old who did not know how to coherently join two ideas together - may be suitable for a cartoon strip but on the big screen it failed miserably - like the guy said earlier the best part of the film is when it ended...

  • A very good film - Jumper could have benefited from the Edgier approach Push took. The kids loved it - though a lot was over their head. Even the wife enjoyed it which says a lot for her to like this genre.

  • I totally understand how some person might not like it, but I really really loved it. I think it was cool because of the Pushers. And if they make a sequel I will definitely watch it.

  • I don't see any problems with this film. It was what Jumper should have been. More sci-fi films should be like this and have the depth and brilliant story that this one did.

  • Not a bad film, a few plot holes and again recycling the genre but what film doesn't these days, Fanning's performance wasn't half as annoying as her previous ones and Evans' strong performance brought the film up.

  • I don't think I've ever been so bored! It was stupid and I was disturbed by the shots used of Dakota fanning in relation to her ludicrously short skirt. Not to mention the fact I can't stand her acting. This film was a waste of time to put it simply.
