As a rule, we find it best to avoid films with punning titles. However, the inclusion of Ryan Reynolds and in particular Jeff Bridges, who has given notable comedy performances in the past (think ‘The Big Lebowski’), provides more of a reason to get excited about this comic drama. If you haven’t guessed already, R.I.P.D stands for the ‘Rest in Peace Department’, a team of undead police officers. When a new recruit (Renolds) joins the team, they begin an investigation into his murder. The premise sounds entertaining enough, but as with any film, it’s all about the execution.Release details
