Rocky IV

0 Love It
Film reduced to the barest of three acts. Act I: Russian bionic mauler Drago (Lundgren) clubs Rocky's chum (Weathers) to extinction. Act II: Spaniel Features drives around in the dark night of his soul, compiling memories of Rockys I/II/III into a flashy rock vid. Act III: He goes to Russia, trains in the snow, and takes revenge. Never mind that all other characters are reduced to shadows, that the dialogue is witless, that the political message is a heart-warming call for detente. This, as Fuller said, is film as battleground, love, hate, violence, action, death - in a word: emotion. Pity it's about Rocky. CPea.

zombie apollo

Back in 1985 my dad took me 2 see Rocky IV. I admit there's lack of plot in this one compared to the three films before, However as i remember it the theater was packed & there were people having to stand up to view the film. People were clapping at the end & i remember hearing people say how great a movie it was. I remember having the soundtrack record as well. I liked all the music from the film except for that one gladys knight song they played when Rocky, Apollo,& Paulie were sitting at the table. 1985 was a magical year, some of my all time favorite films came out that year, however Rocky IV i would have to say is my most watched, most studied, most memorable film of that year.Anyone who lived during that Cold War time can appreciate this movies simplicity & theme.
