What's to say. A dire film. Not funny, no real laughs and its little more than a collection of rather limp attempts at humour. I didn't laugh once. In its defence there were quite a lot of people at the screening so it will probably do well this weekend at the box office. Most were teenagers so possibly more the films target audience. Its the fifth in a line of increasingly poor films. I give it one star as for a comedy it wasn't funny and to offer anymore might encourage people hope that it is better than it actually was.
Scary Movie 5 (15)
And so it continues… In 2000 the Wayans brothers scored big with their silly dumbed-down horror spoof ‘Scary Movie’, which followed a group of kids stalked by a serial killer. Thirteen years later, with Anna Faris and Regina Hall both signing off the franchise, hopes are not high for the fifth instalment. A new storyline find newlyweds, ballet dancer Jody (Ashley Tisdale), and primate researcher Dan (Simon Rex), haunted by a devilish presence. This time around the films in line for parodying are ‘Black Swan’, ‘Paranormal Activity’, ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ and ‘127 Hours’. Possibly the only chink of light here is the prospect of cameo appearances by Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan and Mike Tyson.
