Convicts Sellers, Cribbins and Lodge treat prison like a holiday camp and hatch a plan with bogus clergyman Hyde-White to escape from the joint, deprive a maharaja of his jewels, then break back in again to ensure a watertight alibi. Unfortunately, new warden Jeffries is determined to initiate a tougher regime, which puts the gang's plans in jeopardy. With a tight narrative and a raft of top British character actors, this ebullient comedy could hardly go wrong - and it didn't. Reliably amusing stuff.Release details
