Maybe Jennifer Aniston wants to show the world what a lo-carb diet and yoga seven days a week can do for a girl. I can’t think of another half-decent explanation for her desperate-looking strip tease half-way through ‘We’re the Millers’ (no, nothing to do with the plot). Aniston is Rose, a stripper who reluctantly agrees to help her drug-dealer neighbour (Jason Sudeikis) smuggle marijuana over the border from Mexico. Their high-risk strategy is to go deep undercover – disguised as wholesome midwestern American tourists. A couple of delinquent teenagers (Emma Roberts and Will Poulter) are roped into playing their fake kids. They’re the Millers.

This could have been so much funnier. The Millers’ act is going great guns until they meet the genuine article on the road: a Bible-bashing family in beige slacks and fanny packs. But with jokes cloned from bad taste movies (the lamest of all is when Poulter gets bitten on the balls by a tarantula) and off-kids-telly villains, it doesn’t even qualify for dumb fun.

It's gonna be poor, of course, for easily-offended uptight people with no sense of humor. Mostly, critics nerds whose lame job is watching movies and reviewing them but never a creator or contributor of films at any rate. Just like what an ornothologist does for the birds. Movie is witty and hilarious satire. There're some parts I don't like but overall great. And for those who say this movie is predictable, try to be honest with yourselves next time. As for your not having much humor sense, I doubt you're gonna catch up with Emma Roberts' wits or Jason's. Bitch, please. To the reviewer 2 comments below mine, what comedies are you talking about exactly? Critics are prone to like incredibly shitty movies. By far, their favorites are L.A. Confidential, a Streetcar named desire and in 2013, the hunger games: catching fire. This highly verify them as pretentious boring fucks.

Although inappropriate on several occasions this movie was hilarious from beginning to end. If you didn't enjoy you're probably not a very enjoyable person. However Jennifer Anniston is an awful stripper. Therefore I dropped a star

This film's biggest issue was that it was disgustingly boring. It was predictable and you could forsee exactly what would happen next because it's full of tired jokes other comedies have done much better and for at least the past decade. It tried to be all edgy, what with Aniston's awful stripping (it was like watching a stick-man animation- it was just stiff and awkward and I understood why they cut away from her 'amazing' dance mentioned at the start of the film) and what not but truth was it was cheesy (and not in the good, fun way.) They tried to have this cynical, family guy-esque humour that just falls flat and as the other characters are pretty nice just makes the main cast dislikeable and you don't want them to win. The cast were decent but completely wasted. The storyline was lazy and the jokes lame and grating.

Tanorexic mom, no seatbelts ever used in the RV, but the other couple wore them. It probably wouldn't be so funny if Jason were kissing on the young girl with Aniston now would it. So it's gross to see tanorexic mom and Emma Roberts kissing on the young dude...If Jen had stayed out of the sun a bit before filming, it wouldn't have been so distracting with her lily white family

this movie sucked. one thing i hate most about movie is when characters do illogical actions that nobody would do in real life. i know its done to create drama but so much of the movie is like this. also the bases of the plot is stupid pot doesnt need to be smuggled into colorado since its grow there and pot from mexico is low grade. also the ended is so predictable they end up a becoming a family big surprise.

There must be a reason I've never heard of this site. The movie is hilarious and there are times when I couldn't stop laughing. I feel like you are misguided and out of touch.

This is an enjoyable and funny movie. It is a popcorn film and delivers what it sets out to do. Some real laugh out loud moments. Nick Offerman is excellent and Jennifer Aniston's strip is not as bad as the TO reviewer describes.

This movie was great. It keep your attention through out the movie. It show that you don't have to be related to be a family. But it also you shouldn't break the law either. I believe the actors did a great job. You couldn't help from laughing throught out the movie. I will be buying this movie when it come out on DVD. Great job to the writers, director, and cast.

I thought that the movie was very very funny. It gave me a feeling of enjoyment, and I never knew what was coming next. The plot of the story was intresting and I was never able to guess what was going to happen next. I am definatly adding this to my collection of comedys when its relased on DVD. I would recommend this to any comedy lover or anyone who may want alot of laughs. Great movie overall!!

An absolutely hilarious film. Great comedy acting, an ambitious plot and some genuinely funny stand out moments. It had a bit of a childish sense of humour but after a long day at work where you have to be an adult, a film like this one can be just the contrast that's needed. I was expecting to see glowing reviews for this film having laughed along with hundreds of people in the cinema last night. Seems to be that the critics found it average at best yet the general public seemed to like it from the comments online. I'm hoping for a sequel..

Good to see Cath Clarke has got her fingers firmly on the pulse of popular opinion...

The fIrst movie in a long time that I could have watched again immediately after. Hilarious! If you are a bit of a square or very conservative this might not be the movie for you.

Matt on the Tyne

This is an extremely funny film, and had me in tears of laughter at times. That's all you really need to know if what you want is pure entertainment. In terms of plot and characterisation I would have to say that it does slip up a few times, with the story taking its course in ways that stretch your suspension of disbelief beyond all credible limits. There's the way the foursome first physically join up as a group, which seems scarcely practicable; there's how they reunite at one point in a way that depends on one of them acting in an inexplicably out-of-character way; there's also the stupidity beyond words of the son of the family in a pivotal scene. I also have trouble with the concept of Jennifer Aniston (aged well over 40) being a stripper, even though she is still very attractive. The laughter isn't constant, sometimes making way for sentimentality or unremarkable plot twists. But these are just quibbles. It's very funny a lot of the time, in places eye-wateringly so. A good watch.

Annabelle

This is a great film - there's plenty to laugh about, it's quite gentle and fun. The TO review appears to have issues with females who take care of themselves - as for Jennifer Anniston being 'sad' to get her kit off? It's a good solid funny film with no pretensions - go see it!

critique

I`d rank it alongside the unfairly maligned Hangover Part Three as the most amusing US comedy of the year to date. Three and a half stars.

Juan Carlos

Totally agree with K. Flyer. Much better than the review hints at. It isn't the next great film but perfectly amiable as a comedy. Add to this some nicely subversive shots at middle America. In places very good, yes there are cliches but you have to have them to hit a message home. You must stay for the credit clips including one especially for Aniston. I enjoyed it much more than I expected.

K. Flyer

This is a good funny movie, yes at times a little cliched in places but it all worked well and there are quite a few good laugh out loud moments. Go and enjoy it and hang on for the short gag reel. A very good 8/10
