It's just a few days before Albert Square opens as Festival Square for MIF15, but Time Out Manchester has already been along to test the food and soak up the atmosphere to report back to you.

And we're happy to report that, not only has the MIF team managed to once again pull off the amazing feat of getting the weather to improve just in time for the Festival, and not only have small touches here and there improved the layout and the ability to hear the acoustic stage, but the food is a delicious delight.

Festival stalwarts Paul Heathcote and Thwaites are once again providing the bulk of the buffet and beverages with favourites from MIF13 returning too, such as Ginger's Comfort Emporium.

This time, in addition to a menu not unfamiliar to those who were there two years ago, a pizza oven is on hand serving delicious pizzas for just £5.50, and you can snap up a toasted sandwich with chips for just £4.50. Both are delicious. The mushroom burger, also pictured, is delicious too.

And so begins another three weeks of the best time to be in the city. Fingers crossed the weather stays as good as the food tastes.

See our top ten highlights for MIF15.
