Time Out says

Hark the current pop stars sing, as Christmas lights great joy will bring

Christmas in Manchester starts in November. More specifically, once Santa gets plugged in and Albert Square becomes a sea of twinkling lights, the six-week run-up to the big day begins in earnest.

This year's free event features local funny man Jason Manford, 'Britain's Got Talent' winners Calabro, Warwick Davis, plugging his starring role in the Opera House's 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs', plus a song or two from 'Shrek The Musical'.

Shane Ward will be giving us a warble and the whole party is free. Albert Square will be heaving so get there early and soak up the festive atmosphere.
