Mirko Stocchetto, Bar Basso's owner since 1967, is credited with introducing cocktails to bars in Milan (before then, they were available only in hotels). Stocchetto and his son Maurizio still enjoy coming up with interesting concoctions. The house special is the Negroni Sbagliato ('Incorrect Negroni'), made with spumante (sparkling white wine) instead of gin.
