The portions of meat at this homely trattoria are medieval, in size and preparation. A skewer of whole sausages, chunks of pork and beef is matched with entire aubergines in the spiedone di carne misti e verdure alla griglia. Best of all, OL is totally informal, and a bargain to boot. Candles make a change from the fluorescent lighting in restaurants of this ilk, and the extensive terrace by one of Milan's old river locks comes alive from May to September.
